IFS Therapy

Need some relief?

Being a human is hard sometimes. But the struggle doesn’t have to last forever. And you don’t have to get through it on your own.

I’m a licensed therapist trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy. I hold a safe, compassionate space for my clients as they brave the storm they’re in. An experienced navigator, I can help you map the surroundings and read the waves to help you chart a path to smoother waters. I’m non-judgmental and curious, exploring the depths of your experience with you in order to find the sunken treasure within. I’m here to sail this storm with you. You’re not alone.

If you’d like to learn more about what it’s like to work with me, CONTACT ME to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation and we can have a conversation about my approach and what you’re looking for before we make a first session appointment for therapy.

  • Online appointments only
  • Washington State residents only
  • $150 per 50-minute session
  • For clients experiencing financial barriers (annual household income less than $100,000) I offer two client spaces through Open Path Psychotherapy Collective at $50 per 50-minute session. Contact me to see if I have current spaces available.

What Is Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy?

See Alysa using IFS with a new client.

Have you ever felt like you’re battling with yourself? Like every time you think you have yourself under control, you end up acting out of control? Or you don’t understand why you feel bad or nervous, when everything seems like you should be feeling fine?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is an approach to therapy that was designed to help end these internal battles and bring you peace. We’ll explore your feelings and identify the different parts of you that battle against each other. We’ll learn about each part’s backstory and by using compassion and acceptance we’ll discover deep emotional healing and a new sense of inner calm at your core.

The IFS model was developed by Richard Schwartz, a family therapist who applied established family systems theory to the internal lives of his clients. IFS is a trauma-informed, non-judgmental approach that empowers the client to follow their own organic healing process and discover their own inner wisdom, rather than being dictated by a therapist’s external assessment. IFS therapy is used to support people experiencing a wide variety of mental health challenges. You can learn more about IFS at The IFS Institute.
