Career Counseling

What is my purpose?

What am I naturally good at?

How can I find a career that makes me happy?

These questions can seem impossible to answer when navigating a career path alone. Career counseling is a process that guides individuals who seek clarity, direction, and skills to find a career path that’s right for them.

I’m an experienced career counselor, trained by Emilie Kromer, LMHC, in Olympia, WA between 2015-2020. In my approach to career counseling, I use established career guidance tests, counseling techniques, and process guidance. I believe in a client-centered approach so that the client is always in the driver’s seat, with me as your guide. Through dialogue and a number of exercises, we’ll discover together what road is calling you.

I offer three stages of career counseling, depending on your current needs:

Assessment:  find out what engages you and why

Targeting:  home in on specific career areas and try them out

Marketing:  get hired for a job on your new path

  • The process usually includes between 6 and 12 one-on-one sessions, depending on individual need.
  • How often we meet can range and is up to you. Every other week is common.

If you’d like to give career counseling a try, CONTACT ME to set up a free phone consultation or to make an appointment.

What Clients Say…

“When I was at a low point in my career, Alysa helped me identify my underlying personal fears which were holding me back and patiently supported me as I worked through understanding myself – my needs and goals – and helped me get back on my feet again!” ~ Client, Seattle

“Alysa helped me dig down deep and figure out who I really am and what really drives me as it pertains to my work. …She has an uncanny skill for asking the right questions at the right times, always driving the sessions towards a deeper understanding and that next step. I never walked away from a session feeling like we didn’t make serious progress. I highly recommend Alysa to anyone looking for a career change, especially if you have no idea what you want to do!” ~ Client, Seattle

“Taking the time to do this has been a really positive experience for me. Being led through this was so much more helpful than trying to do this on my own. I felt challenged and supported through the whole process. I now feel much more confident in what to look for in jobs and what questions to ask based on what I identified as important through this. …Alysa was very responsive to feedback and was willing to adjust to the coaching style that I needed. She was there to hold my hand when I wanted/needed extra help and stepped back when I wanted to process more independently.” ~ Client, Seattle
